Tom is a Consultant Urological surgeon at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust. His clinical practice encompasses all areas of general urology with a special interest in the management and prevention of kidney stones and in the management of prostate enlargement. He has particular experience in percutaneous stone surgery, ureterorenoscopy, laser stone treatment and laser prostate surgery (HoLEP).
Having grown up in London, Tom was educated at Westminster school and completed his undergraduate medical studies and basic training at University College London. His postgraduate specialist urological training took place in South London, Kent, Surrey and Sussex. During this time he undertook training in all areas of general urology including subspecialist training in kidney stone treatment and prevention, uro-oncology and andrology. Having excelled during training, Tom became the first urologist in the United Kingdom to be fast-tracked and complete training early.
Tom is the current lead for education within his department and is a reviewer for several peer-review journals including the British Journal of Urology International, the Journal of Clinical Urology and the Journal of Endourology. He has previously spent time in Africa teaching minimally invasive surgical techniques for which he received a humanitarian award from the British Medical Association.
